Gidi Farhi is a Berlin-based musician and composer with a passion for expanding musical boundaries while being committed to the spirit and the emotional depth of the art. Trained in the traditions of jazz yet driven by a spirit of exploration, Gidi creates richly textured soundscapes that blend improvisation, global influences, and lyrical storytelling.
From introspective solo songwriting to collaborations with poets, dancers and oriental ensembles, Gidi’s work lives at the intersection of cultures, genres, and artistic forms. Each project is an invitation - to feel, to reflect, and to hear something unexpected yet deeply resonant.
New Single out
Erev Sof Horef (ערב סוף חורף) is the first single from my new solo album. The song describes a late winter evening and a late blumer romance. Two people are together, having a nice time at home, cooking dinner, watching a movie. Yet despite the physical presence and connection, the singer, the narrator, me, feel far apart emotionally. It feels like the white, cold European sun: it is there, but it doesn't really keep you warm.
